Basic B.Sc (Nursing)

1. Admission

* The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

* The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of

* Higher Secondary School certificate Examination(12 years course).Or

* Senior School certificate Examination(10+2), pre-degree Examination(10+2) Or

* An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or University with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks (PCBE).

* Candidate shall be Medically Fit.

* Entrance / Selection Test

* Selection of the candidates should be based on the merit of the entrance examination held by University or competent authority.

2. Registration

The candidate admitted shall register with Pondicherry University by remitting the prescribed fee along with the application form for Registration duly filled in and forwarded to the University through the Head of the Institution within the stipulated date.

3. Medium of Instruction

English shall be the medium of Instruction for all the subject of study and for Examinations.

4. Curriculum

The curriculum and the syllabi for the courses shall be as prescribed by the Pondicherry University and Indian Nursing Council from time to time.

5. Payment of fees

The candidates are expected to pay the prescribed fees fixed from time to time within the cut off dates. The delay in fee remittance will attract fine. The fees once paid shall not be returned under any circumstances.

6. College working hours

The college functions full day from Monday to Saturday and the working hours are from 9a.m. to 4.00 p.m

7. Attendance

A candidate is required to put in a minimum of 80% of attendance in theory and 100% attendance in clinical.

8. Uniform

The students are required to wear the prescribed uniform during their Clinical Experiences. Two sets of Clinical uniform and one set of Community Health Nursing uniform will be provided by the college on payment of prescribed amount.

9. Vacation and leave

A total of 4 weeks of vacation per year is planned and the students are permitted to avail the same as two weeks in December and 2weeks in May .Public holidays are as per the rules of the institution. Special leave may be granted by the Principal on prior request from the parents for special occasions. Unauthorized leave will be deemed as absenteeism which will attract disciplinary action.

10. Discontinuation

Candidates who want to discontinue will be subjected to abide with the rules of the College enforced from time to time.
